If you are a just starting to work on your fitness goals in the gym, focus on learning how to perform the exercise correctly.
I define a gym beginner as anyone who has been in the gym less than 3 years of consistently lifting weights.
Lifting weights is a lifestyle and you should never stop. Do it until you die.
A 3 week’s break every 6 months is advisable.
If you are over 35 years old, like Dr Kimbo here, 3-4 days a week is enough.
Younger men can do 5 days a week.
Never go to the gym without a plan.
A gym plan states what exercises, how many total reps/sets you’ll perform and under how much weight.
If you don’t know how to write a gym plan, you can consult Doctor Kimbo regarding that.
Going to the gym without a plan is like going to the market without knowing what you want to buy or sell… like a mad man.
Drink a litre of salted water every hour you are in the gym.
Do not eat and lift weights immediately. Stay at least 4 hours before lifting.
Ideally, eat in the evenings when the only activities remaining in the day are eating, resting and sleeping.
If you have a woman, she should also lift weights.
It instills discipline in her,it’s fun and she’ll be stronger, more mentally stable and of course sexier.
LIFT WEIGHTS not just because you want muscles but because IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.
A man must lift heavy things.
