Men, if you want your superiors to take you seriously and probably promote you…
- Work very hard. Outwork everyone else in your institution. Never come to work late.
- When assigned a task, do it very fast. Speed and accuracy means you’re competent.
- Never complain about the volume of work or the low pay. If that’s not acceptable to you, find another employer.
- Never outshine your superiors. Do not compete with them. Never brag that you’re more competent than them. You’ll be fired.
- Gossip, snitching, reporting bad news and petty politics should be avoided at all cost.
- Dress like a serious person or according to the institution’s guidelines. Ornaments and unconditional fashion and hairstyles are not advisable.
- Be a good communicator.
Once you’re at the top, you can now change the rules.
